Der psychopathische Spielehersteller Seico© lädt in seine verlassene Werkstätte zum Kuriositätenkabinett ein, in welchem sich Illustrationen unberechenbar inszenieren.

Fumetto, Internationales Comix Festival Luzern, 16. - 24. April 2016

Schwarz wie die Träume in «Rosemary’s Baby» sind die Welten von «Mr. Seico», dem fiktionalen Spielehersteller. Da rotieren geisteskranke Mäuse im Käfig um ihren Futternapf; da rüttelt ein brüllender Mann an den Gitterstäben, die seine Variétébühne umschliessen. Alles lauter Automatenpuppen auf Overdrive, und kleine Karusselle drehen sich wie von Geisterhand getrieben, dass einem schon vom Zuschauen schwindlig wird. Überhaupt wird der Besucher dieses wilden Jahrmarkts zu einem Teil der Installation, die von über 30 Illustratoren, Gestaltern, ehemaligen Studierenden der Hochschule Luzern in die sogenannte Kapelle der Hochschule hineingebaut wurde. Sie nennen diese klaustrophobisch enge Werkstatt voller Albträume eine «begehbare Illustration». Denn eigentlich ist da nichts als bemalte Pappe, die (elektrisch) animiert wird und sich in den Raum hineinwölbt: Grafik in Motion und in 3-D. Selbst die leuchtende Lampe auf dem Arbeitstisch ist, wie ein zweiter Blick darauf verrät, tatsächlich aus Wellpappe gebastelt. Zur 25. Ausgabe des Internationalen Comix- Festivals Fumetto in Luzern wollten die Künstler vorführen, was ihr Werkzeug draufhat, wie lebendig ihre Materialien sind, wie frankensteinianisch sie sich verselbstständigen: Strich, Farbe, Karton. Und wie hilflos der Mensch ist. Keine Frage, es ist ihnen gelungen.
